- WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Health Scientist (Informatics) , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Providing expert scientific advice, consultation and leadership in designing, coordinating and maintaining public health informatics project goals, objectives and priorities within a CIO and/or CDC/ATSDR and in the general public health community. Managing projects involved with public health informatics and serves as a subject matter expert in the design and implementation of IT systems integrating epidemiologic and other information from a scientific perspective. Designing, overseeing, implementing, and conducting scientific surveys/studies or projects to identify and solve health system related problems in the general public health community. Implementing scientific policies and procedures on informatics practices and principles. Serving as an expert, providing scientific advice and consultation on solutions to critical problems that require creating new approaches, and standards to be used within the applicable CIO. Collaborating with and provides expert advice to all organizational levels with the agency, as well as with various state health agencies, and partner organizations.
