This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Science (OS), OSQLS (Office of Science Quality & Library Services). • As a Librarian, you will: Conduct in-depth reference and research services on moderate to complex public health, scientific, medical, and related topics using print and electronic information resources. Interpret customer information needs, develop search strategies, evaluate sources, retrieve relevant information, and perform follow-up research to ensure complete and accurate results. Provide instruction, orientations, and one-on-one training on library resources, databases, search tools, and research methods for library customers and staff. Develop and maintain electronic information resources, searchable databases, bibliographies, catalogs, and other tools that support access to scientific and public health information. Provide technical library services, including acquisition, cataloging, classification, inter-library loan activities, and maintenance of collection and usage records. Advise customers and staff on selecting and using information resources and resolves complex research, access, and information retrieval problems. Support library operations through customer communications, reports, program information, resource monitoring, professional collaboration, and recommendations for library initiatives.
