EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:
- Interprets and applies complex state laws, statutes, administrative codes, policies, and procedures to delayed birth certificates, adoption-related birth certificates, and Putative Father Registry requests.
- Interviews customers and evaluates requests to determine eligibility, required actions, and appropriate documentation for requested Vital Records services.
- Manages assigned cases from initiation through completion, maintaining accurate case records, correspondence, tracking systems, and LEERS entries.
- Reviews and evaluates court orders, adoption decrees, affidavits, and other evidentiary documents for compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
- Processes adoption and delayed birth certificate cases by conducting electronic and archival searches, verifying documentation, preparing certificates, and securely maintaining case files.
- Processes Putative Father Registry requests by accepting affidavits of paternity, researching Vital Records records, and preparing certificates documenting search results.
- Collaborates with customers, attorneys, judges, medical personnel, adoption professionals, supervisors, and agency legal staff to resolve complex cases, address issues, and support court proceedings.
