About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center with the Directorate of Behavioral Health in San Diego, California. - Responsible for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and consultation of patients with psychological disorders using psychological techniques for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychological distress or dysfunction.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients who exhibit evidence the full range of disorders in accordance with regulations that functions as an authoritative source of information regarding the use and interpretation of psychological tests.
- Conduct psychological assessment of patients with a wide variety of known or suspected psychological disorders that affect intellectual, cognitive, behavioral or emotional functioning.
- Perform psychotherapeutic intervention or environmental modification based on scientific, evidence-based practice, or other community-accepted standard of care.
- Conduct individual and group short-term therapy sessions, including psychoeducational sessions, using expert knowledge and therapeutic techniques.
