Container Products Company (CPC), a Fusion Enterprises company, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Currie, NC. CPC designs and manufactures specialized containers for radioactive and hazardous materials, supporting customers across the nuclear energy, Department of Energy, and critical infrastructure sectors.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys seeing their work move from a drawing or model to the shop floor. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to solve manufacturing challenges, develop and maintain product designs, and turn customer requirements into practical solutions.

This is an entry-to-mid-level opportunity, and we welcome both engineers with a few years of manufacturing experience and recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing and help resolve shop-floor technical issues.
• Create and maintain drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Support design reviews, test planning, and manufacturability improvements.
• Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
• Convert legacy paper and 2D drawings into accurate 3D models and documentation.
• Maintain drawing revisions and controlled engineering documentation.
• Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into actionable engineering and manufacturing information.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to solve problems and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve product designs, manufacturability, and engineering processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, or comparable CAD systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CPC’s ERP and engineering systems.

Experience That’s a Plus

• 2–4 years of engineering, drafting, or manufacturing experience — recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Familiarity with ANSI Y14.2, Y14.3, and Y14.5 drawing standards.
• Exposure to ASTM, AISI, NQA-1, 10 CFR Appendix B, or 49 CFR packaging requirements.
• Experience with ERP-based BOMs, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
• Electrical drafting experience.
