Ramsey County careers

One of the original counties of the Minnesota Territory, established in October 1849, Ramsey County is now the state's smallest and most densely populated county: more than 550,000 people, about ten percent of Minnesota's residents, in 170 square miles around Saint Paul, the state capital and county seat. The service list is correspondingly urban: more than 6,500 acres of parks with four golf courses and eleven ice arenas, a seven-location library system, a 911 center, elections, recycling operations, food inspections, and county roads. The county also connects veterans to benefits and plans public transportation, services easy to miss on a list that long.
