JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform semi-skilled construction and repair of buildings, equipment and structures for the Department of Parks and Recreation; constructs, repairs and maintains metal structures and equipment to include pavilions, cages, fences and other equipment utilizing welding methods and techniques.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.For a complete list of essential job functions please click HERE.These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through two (2) years of semi-skilled building construction experience, or a related area, two (2) years of welding and fabrication experience and one (1) year of lead working experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification as a welder through the American Welding Society within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
