This position is part of the Education and Learning Resources Section at the Portland VA Medical Center. The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. They will also assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

The Nurse Clinical Education Supervisory Program Manager demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to impact the standard of care and safety of staff while caring for all patients throughout the continuum of care. Accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the program and the staff who support it. Oversees the provision of staff education, orientation, competencies, and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation related to the programs. Provides training to staff and employees, integrating adult learning principles. Serves as scholarship coordinator and/or mentor, maintaining current knowledge of local and national policies to meet program outcomes. Serves as Clinical Skills Administrator, assigning roles and learning assignments to clinical staff to maintain operations.
