This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as a Plumber with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, KS.
- As a Plumber, you will perform the following duties which is not all inclusive list:
- Plans and performs work based on oral instructions, preventive maintenance programs, work orders, emergency calls, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and layout sketches.
- Plans the sequence of work and determines the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete assigned projects.
- Performs assigned plumbing work independently from start to completion while following established procedures and quality standards.
- Uses sound judgment to identify and resolve routine issues and refers unusual or difficult problems to the supervisor.
