This position, located at the Fort Harrison VAMC, Health Administration Service, is responsible to plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate all program activities related to patient administration, ward and outpatient clinic administrative support, clinical data capture, Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD), medical records establishment and control, medical transcriptionist capabilities, revenue cycle management, non-VA Care, and clinic of jurisdiction of program activities.
- Major duties of this position include but are not limited to... Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates all HAS program areas (patient administration; clinic/ward admin; AOD; medical records; transcription; clinical data capture; revenue cycle; Non-VA Care/CHOICE; HIMS operations) Chair/participates in committees; manage jurisdiction over non-VA diagnostic/treatment activities; manage patient administrative programs Evaluates and adjusts organizational structure/systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and economical staffing Installs administrative/clerical procedures for efficient processing and in-service training; provides guidance for Medical Record Program and ROI controls Sets service-line priorities and quarterly/annual goals; defines expected outcomes and track progress Prepares performance standards and evaluates subordinate supervisors; approves hires/ promotions/reassignments Guides staff research; oversees feasibility/risk/cost-effectiveness studies; lead development of new administrative approaches Justify, defend, and negotiate HAS policies, priorities, and resource allocations with internal/ external leaders Provides management advisory services and executive liaison support (e.g., provider orientation collaboration) Develops short- and long-range plans; participates in strategic planning; plan program changes impacting business operations Responds to changes in appropriations/legislation and Agency/VISN policy by adjusting business processes and priorities Safeguards sensitive data (Privacy Act/FOIA); maintains release-of-information controls; ensure ADP security/access compliance Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
