This position is eligible Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. - The Non-Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in overseeing operations of a nursing unit/patient care area. Fosters team development, ensures compliance with standards of clinical practice, and serves as a key liaison between staff and leadership. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities and is often considered part of the succession plan for future NM positions, providing opportunities to develop management skills and prepare for higher-level leadership. Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or overseeing direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Demonstrates sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
