The Maintenance Worker will perform various routine repairs, maintenance and installation of operational equipment necessary to keep county-owned property and equipment in a functional and orderly manner. This position will maintain and repair physical structures of buildings and maintain grounds by performing the following duties.

- Perform routine preventive maintenance (i.e., maintain and repair building's plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses).
- Respond to emergency breakdown of equipment.
- Install new equipment.Perform routine procedures in the daily operation of the sewage plant (Pocopson).
- Paint interior and exterior walls and trim.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Six months to one year of job-related experience and/or training.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Ability to operate light and heavy tools and machinery.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry tasks to completion.
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- A valid driver's license is required.
