You will serve as a Control & Instrumentation Mechanic Supv II with Bureau of Reclamation. This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Hoover Dam Field Division, Maintenance Office, Communication and Test Group located at the Hoover Dam in Clark County, NV.
- Bureau of Reclamation-wide - This is a Merit Promotion announcement for career and career conditional Bureau of Reclamation employees, career transition eligibles (CTAP), current or former eligibles under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA). Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for programs such as protective relaying maintenance, insulation testing on large hydro units and transformers and computer basis systems such as flow indication, generation monitoring and temperature recording. Supervises, plans, and performs, and schedules work crews involved in maintaining and repairing all electrical/electronic equipment within the LCDO facilities. Oversees work related to load and temperature recorders, voltage facilitators interposing control relays, various indicating, integrating and metric meters, revenue meters, control equipment, protective relays and other types of electronic/electrical control equipment installed in the plant. During major overhauls, installs and inspects and tests a wide variety of electrical/electronic equipment. As part of the apprenticeship program, may be assigned to train, instruct, and council an apprentice in all phases of electrical and/or electronic maintenance/operations. Inspects work areas, equipment and work habits of personnel to uncover any hazardous working conditions and to correct all safety violations. Instructs subordinates within the section on accepted safety practices and procedures to ensure employee adherence to Safety Regulations and protect Safe Clearance Procedures enrolled in the continuing First Aid Class. XE Salary rate: Step 2: $67.22/hr Step 3: $69.91/hr Current employees shall be placed in step 2 of the new special schedule, or, if their current rate of pay exceeds the rate for step 2, they shall be placed in step 3.
