As a Data Scientist, you will analyze data, build dashboards and models, apply statistical methods, validate data quality, optimize algorithms, and deliver insights that support evidence-based decisions for USCIS/HCT leadership.

  • The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
  • Support and co-lead the development, refinement, and implementation of data visualization products, including dashboards, graphical displays, and related tools, to ensure information is clear, accurate, verifiable, and responsive to business needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate datasets used for data visualization and reporting, identifying discrepancies, inconsistencies, or data quality issues and recommending corrective actions to improve the credibility of analytical products.
  • Research, analyze, compile, and interpret data from multiple sources using statistical software and analytical tools to perform analyses, generate graphics, compile statistics, and provide insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Apply critical thinking to research initiatives and data interpretation by evaluating data quality, assumptions, limitations, potential biases, and analytical results to support evidence-based decision-making.
