The incumbent serves as an assistant, providing the full range of support functions within this Division.

  • As a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems), GS-0201-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: 1. Provides comprehensive HR administrative support by reviewing and processing personnel actions, including appointments, separations, pay and position changes, ensuring appropriate authorities, regulatory codes, effective dates, remarks, and supporting documentation are accurate and complete. 2. Processes and maintains personnel and payroll data in automated HR systems, including DCPDS/DCPS, involving a variety of appointment types, pay plans, work schedules, personnel actions, and other employee-related transactions. 3. Reviews personnel records and documentation to identify discrepancies, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies, and maintain accurate and complete Official Personnel Folders (OPFs), payroll records, and related files. 4. Provides technical HR assistance and customer service to employees, managers, supervisors, and HR specialists on personnel actions, staffing and recruitment, benefits, leave administration, HR information systems, and other human resources matters. 5. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with personnel actions and HR transactions, obtaining information from employees, supervisors, organizational representatives, regulations, and applicable guidance to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing. 6. Provides administrative and project support for HR programs and initiatives, including gathering, reviewing, consolidating, and preparing reports and documentation; maintaining functional files; and assisting with special projects across multiple HR functional areas.
