About the Position: The Dental Assistant position is located at the Brigade Dental Clinic in Bancroft Hall on the US Naval Academy Campus. The employee will work in a clinical dental-care environment supporting the dental treatment of eligible patients and midshipmen. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Serve as an assistant primarily supporting a dental specialist.
- Assist in complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, orthodontic, or periodontal treatment, including crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, bone grafts and gingival transplants.
- Receive and schedule patients for treatment.
- Chart examination and treatment information.
- Record information on prescriptions.
