This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel in the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As Industrial Equipment Mechanic you will perform the installation maintenance, modification testing, overhaul and repair of complicated stationary engineering boiler and boiler feed water equipment and facilities including complete plants and distribution equipment and piping.
- Perform the installation maintenance, modification testing, overhaul and repair of complicated stationary engineering boiler and boiler feed water equipment and facilities including complete plants and distribution equipment and piping.
- Interpret instructions – manufacturers or local – for installation and operation of equipment.
- Independently perform necessary modifications and fabrications to equipment to include substitution condensers, tanks or pumps to meet specific needs,
- altering agitators, lines, valves, tubing and piping, changing pumps and adapting feeder lines and associated equipment for transferring water and wastewater throughout the installation.
- Inspect facilities/equipment regularly to ensure proper function on, or to diagnose trouble.
