This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (MVO), performing the full range of troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and maintenance on industrial refrigeration and chilled water systems, and operating forklifts and vehicles.

  • Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and overhaul complex industrial refrigeration, chilled water, and multi-zone air conditioning systems to maintain critical facilities and equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace worn internal mechanical components, electrical systems, and valves on electric and diesel motor-driven air compressors and engines.
  • Operate heavy forklifts up to 10,000 pounds and motor vehicles up to 5 tons to load, transport, and stack equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Process, label, and containerize hazardous waste and refrigerants generated during maintenance in accordance with state and federal environmental laws.
  • Comply with all established occupational safety and health regulations, report workplace hazards, and actively support accident prevention programs.
