Food Service Representative - SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable delivery of patient meal trays, stock unit pantries, and maintain sanitation. Must be able to communicate by scripting, follow patient safety procedures and communicate with the patient, nursing, guest, diet office and other staff members. Adhere to Food Service standards of care and promoting a team effort among co-workers.

Food Service Representative - BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in HealthStream Policy Manager.

Required to work with the Food Service Coordinator or Food Service Supervisor regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Food and Nutritional Department.

Food Service Representative - JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or minimum score of Bronze on the Career Readiness Certification (“CRC”) certificate preferred.

Experience: Food service experience preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend little time in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand/walk, bend/squat/twist, and occasionally lift up to 30lbs and push a cart up to 35 lbs. Must be able to spend majority of an 8 hour shift walking to and from the kitchen and throughout the hospital. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This position works as scheduled and must be able to be flexible according to the department needs in staffing or covering vacations. Position may be full-time/part-time and requires working weekends.
