- Provides direct patient care services under the direction of a registered nurse within the dialysis unit. Prepares patient care areas with equipment and supplies needed for the initiating and completing of the hemodialysis treatment. Responsible for a full range of skilled patient care procedures that include cannulation, initiation, termination, and providing of intra-dialytic monitoring of the dialysis treatment. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
