Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

• Join a dynamic team at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center, where you'll make a meaningful impact in the lives of Veterans facing substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. As a Staff Psychologist with full clinical privileges, you'll serve as a champion for recovery-focused care, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment in a multidisciplinary environment. Key Duties: Deliver comprehensive psychological services-including individual, group, and family therapies-to Veterans and their families, addressing substance use disorders and a broad range of psychiatric conditions. Conduct psychological assessments, formulate diagnostic impressions, and develop collaborative treatment plans using advanced diagnostic tools and evidence-based modalities. Provide crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and therapeutic services tailored to diverse patient needs, utilizing Measurement Based Care principles. Administer and interpret psychodiagnostic tests, compose detailed reports, and serve as an authoritative resource for test interpretation and differential diagnosis. Collaborate with clinicians across disciplines, participate in treatment team meetings, and coordinate care within the SUD clinic and the broader continuum of VA services. Offer outreach, education, and psychoeducational interventions to Veterans and their families, enhancing coping skills and social functioning. Supervise and mentor psychology trainees, interns, and residents, contributing to the growth of future professionals. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in program evaluation, and uphold the highest standards of patient privacy and ethical practice. Engage in quality improvement, peer review, and consultative roles, supporting both clinical excellence and organizational mission. Preferred Experience: candidates that will be considered the most highly qualified are those with experience in evidence based psychosocial treatments for substance use disorders and assessment of substance use disorder. Work Schedule: While the administrative tour for this position is generally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, the nature of the role may require being available for emergent situations on evenings and weekends.
