This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. VHA Physician Total Rewards Hospitalist Physician Duties: Patient Care-addresses medical problems, practices within scope of privileges, arrives in Medical inpatient wards on time. Attends daily rounds and huddles for improved patient care. Medical/Clinical Knowledge-Maintains Internal Medicine board certification (if board certified), meets CME requirements, and participates in resident/student training. Practice Based Learning & Improvement- Participates in work groups, peer review processes and committees, and/or departmental learning activities, and remains abreast of medical advances in his/her area of expertise and incorporates this information to deliver care that meets contemporary standards of care. Interpersonal & Communication Skills- Electronic medical record entries are appropriate and in accordance to VHA directive. Provides appropriate consultative evaluation, treatment, and/or follow-up recommendations. Professionalism- communicates with colleagues and other employees and patients with high degree of professionalism, displays empathy towards patients, and avoids any disruptive or unprofessional Behavior. Complies with all facility and VA directives for impatient Medicine and care of the Veterans. Systems-Based Practice-Complies with safety, security, and privacy policies, assures proper warm hand off of patients, assures medication reconciliation, remains compliant with medical records documentation, notifies about planned absences as early as possible in beginning of the year preferably to assure proper coverage and overall complies with hand-off communication policy. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, Monday through Friday- 0800-1900, Saturday-Sunday 0700-1800
