Certified Respiratory Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides competent respiratory care services to patients as prescribed by the responsible physician. Ensures the efficient application of IPPB, aerosol, chest physiotherapy, blood gas analysis in application to ventilation and the monitoring of continuous ventilation. Provides care to any age group from neonatal to geriatric as evidenced by the skill/competency check offs. Complies with departmental and University Health System's policies and maintains good guest and working relations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care and Texas Medical Board license is required. Verification of course completion in accordance with all American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider guidelines is required. ACLS preferred.
