About the Position: This position is located within the Directorate for Clinical Support (DCS), Department of Clinical Pathology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Shift: Day hours, on-call a week at a time. Incumbent must be present at a minimum of 40 hours per week for regular duty. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Serves as the recognized authority or research lead on the assigned pathology specimen or research project.
- Provides advanced diagnostic consultation and specialized testing.
- Identifies and diagnoses rare and complex entities using new and advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Performs and interprets specialized tests on body fluids or tissue samples, providing accurate information about pathogenesis, histogenesis, biology, and differential diagnosis.
- Receives and analyzes pathological samples from multiple facilities, including international sites, ensuring consistency and accuracy in diagnoses.
