Job Duties:
- The Senior Accountant / Fiscal Analyst performs professional accounting duties of moderate to high complexity related to state and federal financial reposting, fiscal analysis, and agency funds management. Assists in the reporting and funds management of a federal budget of approximately $575 million, including 35 federal grants.
- Prepares federal, state, and internal financial reports relating to grants, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and timeliness. Gathers, analyzes, manipulates, and reports financial data as required for internal and external reports including ad hoc reposting as needed.
- Participates in agency cash management activities to include daily monitoring and maintenance of federal and other funds cash balances, management of federal grant awards, and reconciliation to agency general ledger.
- Reconciles grant-related accounts, identifying discrepancies, and making necessary adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
- Monitors grant budgets, and expenditures to ensure funds are utilized in accordance with federal regulations. Collaborates with program managers and other stakeholders to provide financial expertise and guidance. Works with HR/Payroll to keep grant funding streams current for agency employees.
- Assists with the preparation of the Schedule of Federal Financial Assistance and other audit schedules, documentation, and support for annual state and/or federal audits, specifically related to grants.
- Maintains internal controls and procedures for grant accounting to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable laws and regulations. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP'S) and grant financial documentation for historical reference and compliance purposes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
