Instructor, RN to BSN

Position Purpose

The full-time RN to BSN Nursing faculty member provides high-quality instruction and contributes to the continued development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the RN to BSN program. The faculty member supports student learning and success through effective online teaching, curriculum development, assessment of student and program outcomes, and engagement in evidence-based nursing education practices. As a faculty position supporting baccalaureate nursing education, responsibilities encompass teaching and teaching-related activities, professional development and scholarly activities, and service to the institution and community. The faculty member collaborates with nursing faculty, program leadership, and academic-practice partners and contributes to accreditation, systematic program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities that support the quality and integrity of the RN-to-BSN program.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

• Teaching assigned nursing courses within the RN to BSN program using effective, evidence-based teaching and learning strategies appropriate for online and other assigned instructional modalities.
• Assess student learning and contribute to the evaluation of course, program, and graduate outcomes as part of the nursing program’s systematic evaluation and continuous improvement process.
• Participate in nursing department, program, division and college committees and shared governance activities as assigned.
• Participate in ACEN and/or CCNE accreditation activities, including systematic program evaluation, preparation of reports and supporting documentation, curriculum review and mapping, outcome assessment, and preparation for accreditation reviews and site visits.
• Participating in recruitment, orientation, retention, and other program activities as appropriate,

To Be Considered You Need:

• A minimum of a master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Must have a current, unencumbered Ohio RN license or Multistate RN licensure.
• A minimum of two (2) years of full-time teaching experience in a BSN nursing program.
• Demonstrated experience teaching nursing courses in an online learning environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing online nursing courses.
• Experience with online instructional design and best practices in distance education.
• Experience with assessment of student learning and program outcomes in a BSN nursing program.
• Experience with curriculum development, evaluation, and revision in an RN to BSN or other baccalaureate nursing program
• Experience with ACEN and/or CCNE accreditation processes, including accreditation reporting, self-study activities, systematic program evaluation, curriculum review, or preparation for accreditation site visits.

Preferred Qualification(s):

• Experience coordinating or supervising RN to BSN practicum, capstone, leadership, quality improvement, or population-focused learning experiences.
