As a Supervisory Government Information Specialist, you will lead a unit within the USCIS FOIA/PA program. You will oversee the release of agency information, the proactive disclosure of agency program information, and the processing of high-level, significant-interest FOIA requests.
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the unit; establishes short- and long-term action plans to ensure successful accomplishment of organizational goals, operational priorities, and mission requirements.
- Oversee daily operations of the unit by reviewing FOIA cases, supervising first-line supervisors, ensuring the quality and timeliness of work products, and safeguarding personally identifiable information (PII).
- Act as the technical authority on the most difficult and complex legal issues involving the disclosure of immigration information.
- Serve as the primary liaison with senior-level executives within USCIS and senior officials in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Privacy Office regarding the handling of FOIA requests and the release of agency information to Congress.
- Make operational and strategic decisions that impact organizational operations using available information; assesses associated risks and impacts; and develops plans to mitigate potentially negative outcomes.
