The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting

 for a Human Resource Technician 3 (Payroll) located in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska!

 

What You Will Be Doing:

Join the Department of Fish & Game’s (DFG) Human Resource (HR) team to provide technical information, support and assistance to DFG managers and employees. In this position, you’ll gain hands-on experience in human resources, building both knowledge and practical skills in Payroll. 

Under the general supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, you will direct and perform payroll duties, including resolving complex payroll, leave and compensation issues and assisting with training. Additionally, providing guidance to DFG’s Payroll Team, admin staff and employees, incorporating regulations, policies and procedures.

One year of journey technical level human resource experience. This is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.  

Substitution: 

One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska. 

OR 

Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours equal 2 years) from an accredited college or university in any field. 

OR 

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and human resources experience at the journey technical level. This experience is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere. 

OR 

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and technical level dispatching experience. This experience is equivalent to an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.

Special Note: 

"Human resource” work includes experience in recruitment and selection, classification, employee training, employer provided benefits programs, employment law compliance, personnel, payroll, or employee or labor relations. Supervision of subordinates does not in itself constitute human resource work.

The location of this position is currently in Juneau. The position may be located in Anchoarge, dependent upon the location of the most qualified candidate. There is only ONE position to be filled.
