As a Leadership and Management Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding individuals towards becoming effective leaders and managers in their respective fields. Your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive leadership and management training programs that empower participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to excel in their roles.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in leadership and management topics, such as supervision, team building, communication, conflict resolution, coaching, delegation, performance management, and change leadership
  • Teach practical, workplace-ready skills for new supervisors, emerging leaders, and experienced managers across a variety of industries
  • Develop course materials, case studies, role-plays, self-assessments, and hands-on activities that connect concepts to real workplace situations
  • Facilitate interactive discussions and small-group exercises that encourage participants to share experiences and apply new skills
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse adult learners, including working professionals, small business owners, and organizational teams
  • Collaborate with the Continuing Education Coordinator to design new courses, certificate offerings, and customized training for area employers
  • Deliver instruction in multiple formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online, as assigned
  • Gather participant feedback and evaluate course effectiveness to continuously improve content and delivery
  • Maintain accurate attendance and completion records in accordance with department procedures
  • Stay current on best practices, trends, and emerging topics in leadership, management, and workforce development
  • Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor with all members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth-oriented work environment
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in leadership and management roles, with a strong understanding of leadership principles, management practices, and organizational dynamics.
  • Ability to pass a background check, have valid US driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering leadership and management training programs, workshops, or courses, preferably in a corporate or professional development setting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals to maximize their potential.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) and/or leadership assessment tools (e.g., MBTI, DISC) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, learning management systems, and technology-enhanced learning tools
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred. Work is routinely performed in an classroom environment.
