About the Position: The position is part-time (40 hours per pay period); Rotating Shifts; 12- Hours Shifts may include: 0645-1915/1845-0715; 8 hour shift may include: 0645-1515/1045-1915/1845-0315/2245-0715; nights/weekends/holidays - rotations may change every 3-6 months (Hours may vary at commands discretion) This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Assesses nursing needs and develops and implements a Plan of Care for each patient.
- Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU.
- Responds decisively to life-threatening changes in patient condition, providing immediate and appropriate emergency measures.
- Facilitator to mediate complaints and concerns of patients, family members and staff, taking immediate action to resolve or refer to a higher authority.
- Recommends strategies to improve nursing unit organization and functions utilizing evidence-based practice.
