About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and directly supports the White House Medical Unit. The incumbent serves as a senior Physician Assistant providing advanced clinical, supervisory, operational, and medical-readiness expertise in support of the WHMU mission. The incumbent may be required to work outside normal duty hours and must remain capable of responding to short-notice mission requirements. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
- Independently evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and chronic medical conditions within established clinical privileges and scope of practice.
- Delivers advanced medical care in fixed facilities and during designated missions, travel, contingency operations, emergency responses, and sensitive activities.
- Establishes priorities and expectations for employees; allocates resources; evaluates performance; provides formal counseling, mentorship, and professional development; and resolves complex performance, conduct, workforce, and operational issues.
- Leads the development, review, standardization, implementation, and continuous improvement of guidelines, orders, standard operating procedures, emergency-response protocols, clinical pathways, readiness directives, and related operational policies.
- Directs comprehensive clinical, logistical, facility, and operational-readiness assessments to anticipate and identify systemic vulnerabilities and capability gaps before they impact patient care or mission execution.
