About the Position: Serve as Medical Technician for the Director of Clinical Support located at the Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River in Patuxent River, Maryland. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring that the physiologic properties are maintained.
- Conduct necessary quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Evaluate requested test procedure to determine suitability of specimen and requests .
- Ensure proper documentation of patient identification and proper specimen identification in accordance with College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations.
- Performs clinical laboratory tests on specimens as ordered.
